How often should you get new tires?

I have had my tired for around 3.5 years and they seem to work fine but I am thinking maybe I should get new tires just to be safe. Is there like a general rule of thumb for when to get new tires?|||if they have uneven wear replace them especially the front tires they are more important. most tires last 20-40,000 miles but looking at them is the only way to know.

dont buy cheap tires they wont last and they blow out more often.|||Tyres stored for six years unused should be discarded as they deteriorate. If they're kept unused and exposed to sunlight then the damage is even faster.

Tyres fitted on a vehicle and in regular use should be replaced after ten years, but most wear out/puncture long before that anyway.

Tyre which are more than three years old are substantially harder than new tyres and will have less braking performance on wet roads, but it's not a real safety issue as the driver gradually adapts to the changes in handling over time. As long as there's sufficient tread even hardened tyres should still meet their performance expectations.|||rule of thumb when the tread get below minimum replace about 25 to 40 thousand miles|||Don't always go by thread depth. check the tire side walls for cracks.

For me, im a very aggresive driver so i normally change tires once a year. Even if the thread dept is good. Chances are your inner side walls have cracks.|||good brand name tires last 50,000 miles.|||Do you have a penny?
