How much do street sportbike tires cost?

I think I have a leak because I inflate the tires to 42psi and after a day of riding its down to 10psi. I'm pretty sure it a leak or does that just happen from day of riding? How much do street sportbike tires cost?
If you don't have a nail in the tire, you may not have a good seal on the bead of the tire (where the tire meets the rim) or a leaking valve stem. The centrifugal force can cause the stem to move a little and you lose air.

Use the small bit of detergent to find the leak in the tire. Slightly move the valve stem around and see if you get a leak around the base. You can also check the core. Take the cap off of the stem and spray some on the end.

If it's a bad valve or a poor seal, take it to a shop and have them repair it. There may be a bit of rubber flashing preventing a good seal around the rim.

If it's a nail, and a small one, you can have it patched or do it yourself. Many shops won't do it because of the liability involved. I've patched three of my tires without any problems. One tire I did replace because the puncture was caused by a larger bit rather than a small nail. You have to make a judgement call. If you're not sure, replace it. It's your life you're talking about. I know how I ride and can assess the risk for my life and not yours.

Ride safe
its a leak or leaky valve,

New tires cost around $150- $200. Yup, that means really expansive tire repair. For you it sounds like your going to need new tires. You can't patch motorcycle tires like the one on cars. It doesn't matter if its just a small air leak. On sport bikes tires are thinner and can bust very easy when going fast. DON'T ride on bad tires your life is on the line. I've had to buy new tires very time a had a flat.
You are correct in your thinking, riding won't cause pressure lose.

Unless you have a shop patch the tire, which on must 'sportbike's is not allowed by states law, you can find them for starting at $180, plus mount and balance. Have you checked the tire when full? Place a small amount os liquid soap in a spray bottle, then start at the valve stem. If no bubbles appear there, then check the bead (where the rubber mounts to wheel). If none appear there either, then the fun begins......start on the tread, about six to eight inch section at a time. How much do street sportbike tires cost?
He's right, $150-$200 and you must replace them. It sounds like you are riding hard. Are both tires doing that? If either tire goes out in a corner you are done for, if your front goes out at any time you are really done. See if the shop you get them from offers road hazard insurance on your new tires.
I will point out one thing I noticed that has not been addressed.

42 psi is too high for any use. I know, I know the manufacture says 42 on the side of the bike. I have been riding a racing for a couple days and I can tell you 42 is too high. Don't take my word for it ask around.

42 is good if you are running 150 everywhere but for those who don鈥檛 that is too high. It will also cause faster wear on the tire.

I would run about 35-37 in the M1.

I recommend a Metzler M1 for the street for an aggressive rider. They are cheap and they stick like glue. They also wear fast.

For a longer lasting tire the M3 and other new generation long lasting tires are good but they are not as sticky. You can get 3xs the miles out of them.

Oh ya I agree with the stem check. That is the likely source of the leak. You can just have the stem replaced.
