Can someone help me with choosing new tires for my van?

I have a '94 Grand Caravan that needs new tires. I know what size to get but I don't know much about speed ratings (if there even is such a thing) or the difference between 30,000 mile tires and 50,000 mile tires. Do they just have more tread?



I drive about 12,000 miles a year (mostly city/highway) and I want to get good value for my money... but can't afford to pay more than about $500 total, including mounting and balancing. Anyone have tips or suggestions?Can someone help me with choosing new tires for my van?
Firestone Destination's,excelant tires, don't believ all the bad you may have heard about Firestone, these tires are great, I have had these on my Ranger for 40,000 and they still look great, I've hauled alot of weight in my truck, so they are standing up well..they should go another 40,tho before I need to think about another set...I don't know what size your talking about, but mine cost right around $400.Can someone help me with choosing new tires for my van?
