How much will an alignment and new tires help my MPG?

I just bought a 98 Blazer. It pulls to the right and all the tires have very uneven wear that gives it a rough ride. How much change to my MPG can this cause? Also, could the wear on the tires be indicative of other types of problems?|||http://www.kosttire.com/web/tiretips.htm

It has all the information you could possibly need to know.|||A lot and Yes. Don't drive at high speeds until you get it checked. Get the car on a lift and get the front end completely checked by a reputable mechanic or dealer. If that's ok get it aligned and get new tires.

Actually, get the car checked thoroughly. If it has some sort of warranty you want to find out about any problems quickly.|||Bad tires can cause steering pulling. Your first solution to the problem is to put good quality tires on your vehicle that are properly balanced. I recommend Michelin tires. If the steering still pulls left or right with new tires on a flat highway, then have the alignment checked. Don't pay for an alignment if the alignment machine says your car's alignment is within specifications. Many reputable alignment centers (front end specialists) don't charge for an alignment if your wheels are already within specifications.|||it depends on tire type for mpg. if the alignment is out by a bit it could really affect gas mileage. Ball joints and idler arms are very prevalent on blazers. would recommend getting them checked. Also that vehicle is not know for getting good gas mileage|||I think you have a few more problems than an alignment can cure. If it pulls, you may have a bad tire or possibly bad front end parts. You could also have a brake caliper hanging up causing the pull. Either will cost a lot in mileage.|||it can vary greatly, but in any case bad alignment causes drag as well as ware on ball joints and suspension parts, tires are very important, inflation pressure is a major factor. uneven ware is a typical sign of alignment problems and should be the first thing you have checked. if your blazer is 4wd a 4 wheel alignment should be done, with these things done you should see a slight improvment, keep in mind, this type of vehical does'nt get the best fuel milage anyway|||none, but proper tire inflation, will give the most possible help|||lucky to gain 1/2 mpg...tie rod ends, bad pitman arm ,ball joints, wheel bearings can cause front end problems
